TOP 5 RAREST ANIMALS IN THE WORLD 2021

The animals are the creatures we get in contact with every time we look around or even once listen to them throughout the day. It is obvious, as we share the same habitat with them. But have we ever thought about what our arrival and revolutions got them through? These animals that are living here for decades are forced to be extinct due to our ruthless behaviors. There were millions of spunky creatures dwelling on earth and enhancing its beauty. But, disheartened, our wrong practices have reduced them to a rare count and made them about to disappear.

So, here is the list of the top 5 rarest yet fascinating animals found on the face of this planet, which are bitterly facing the era of distinction.

Melanistic Fox

A silver fox is a form of red fox (Vulpes vulpes) resembling an estimate of 25% with common species. Some are completely black, with just a little complementation of colors on tip of the tail, a little blueish gray cinereous on the side. They are widely hunted for their valuable furs, as these furbearers’ pelt is exported throughout Russia, Western Europe, and China. It is considered a sign of splendor. They historically ranged from the Sierra to Nevada Mountains. Misfortunately limited to only 2% of the microscopic population in California.

At one point, scientists thought that they are another species of fox but in reality, the Melanistic fox is an offspring of a red fox with a minor color notation. The fox is created by the cross of the red fox morph with silver morph. basically; melanin is a color notation that hits skin and hair, causing intervals of darker shades. These species are at a high risk of vulnerable extinction and their habitat is limited to northern areas consisting of a den with multiple openings. Their color scheme makes a distinction in their appearance standard, gold, and silver.

A fox with a little darker than a common orange complexion is a funder of golden species. While the silver with a completely black body and some patches of orange pigment around ears and chicks are considered to be one of the rarest animals in the world.

  • Piebald Python

“Piebald” is a common color pattern in animals throughout the world like horses, dogs, and sometimes reptiles. In this case, Pythons are brown or orange snakes with large white patches and strips of unpigmented skin. It is a combination of controlled breeding of base morph with other morphs by professional breeders and herpetologists to provide them fascinating body structure. Piebald Pythons are found in regions of the western coast of Sierra through Ghana and Liberia to Nigeria and to Uganda. They have the ability to adapt to their environment, however, they are recommended to feed an adult mouse or rat every 2 to 4 weeks.

They are reported to remain healthy in captivity and due to the reluctance to bite, they are considered to be the rarest pet to keep at home. It is mostly seen that they feel more comfortable eating at night and remain hidden throughout the day. During the first 10 days after hatching, the offspring live on their initial energy extracted from their eggs.

  • Harpy Eagle

This rare animal is also known as Royal Hawk in some parts of Brazil. It is the largest and most powerful raptor found not only throughout its range but in the entire species of eagles. The destruction of its natural habitat has caused the extinction of this gigantic species. Harpy Eagle is the national bird of Panama. According to Greek Mythology, this bird is named after Harpija, which means the predatory half-woman and bird monster because this bird is open occasionally reported to attack and eat human children.

A female harpy can weigh twice its male. Unlike other birds, these rare eagles are also a fund for bringing greenery to their nest on a chick’s hatch. Moreover, Harpy eagles have topped the list of the world’s most powerful and largest eagles, with their talons similar to the size of a grizzly bear’s claws. The major threat which occurs in the way of their survival is the increasing deforestation and shikar.

  • Saola

The saola (Pseud Oryx ngethinhesis) is better known as Vu Quang Ox or an Asian unicorn. It is recorded to be one of the rarest large mammals, found only in the Annamite Range of Vietnam and Laos (one of the world’s most beautiful, mysterious, dangerous, and significant ecosystems). A survey by the Vietnamese Ministry of Forestry and Worldwide Fund for Nature considered it to be closely related species of cattle goats and antelopes. Unfortunately, to save these extinction threated species, we have to capture them in order to help them breed.

They were discovered in 1992 and just 2 decades later, considered to be the most threatened mammals in South Asia. They closely resemble wild cattle, buffalo, and sheep. Saolas have adapted 1 to 2 mm thick skin over their body to get protection against predators and hunters. However, they diverged from all other living species more than 13 million years ago. According to some researchers, there are approximately 750 saolas left on earth.

  • Pangolin

The mammal, the pangolin, is sometimes also known as scaly anteaters. This species differs in sizes from 30 to 100 centimeters. Earlier, many people considered them to be reptiles as they are the only mammals whose body is wholly covered in scales which they use in case of danger in the wild. In any case of a threat, they immediately curl themselves into a tight ball, and their sharp-scaled tails are proved to be beneficial while defending themselves from predators. They feed on tiny crawling creatures.

Due to the absence of teeth, they have to rely upon their sticky tongues which occasionally outrange the length of the prey’s body. The Pangolins are highly in demand for the delicacy of their meat and the beneficial pharmaceutical effect of their scales in traditional medicines and folk remedies. However, the WWF incorporating TRAFFIC is trying to protect this species from extinction, putting a warrant of illegibility on the consumption of their meat.
